Show accolades

To the editor:

This is for anyone who missed the rave review of “Over the River and Through the Woods” that appeared in Sunday’s Journal-World.

The reviewer was absolutely on target. The current show at the Lawrence Community Theater wasn’t amateur theater; this was non-professional theater so great it is hard to imagine that a Broadway cast could do it better.

Somehow the reviewer missed attractive Trina Vincent, as the potential love interest. Like the other five players, she was absolutely believable and right for the role. She made the audience think that maybe the young man ought not to take the promotion in Seattle, but stay in Hoboken and see what developed.

It’s a comedy full of unforced, but very funny, humor and characters one cares about. It deserves sell-out houses. This is the opinion of someone who goes home during the intermission when a show is poor. This play is worth seeing twice!
