On his watch

To the editor:

Perhaps the current problems at Kansas University are a result of the lack of insight or leadership of Chancellor Bob Hemenway. Under his tenure, the football program was in disarray, two athletic directors were fired, the top basketball coach in the country bolted, and don’t forget he extended the current women’s basketball coach’s contract.

More importantly, I have watched the status of the university drop (national rankings for top public schools), and KU is now recognized as a top party school according to “unofficial surveys.” That does not inspire confidence in a parent who is considering KU for his or her child. In short, perhaps it is time to re-evaluate the chancellor and consider his removal!
