Olathe ? Lawrence High’s swim team placed fifth and Free State 10th of 19 teams Saturday at the Olathe Invitational.

Sarah Marlow of LHS won the 200 individual medley in 2:15.77 and notched third in the 500 freestyle in 5:23.4.

The Lions’ Ellie Lloyd qualified for state in diving by finishing 14th with 278.8 points.

“I’m excited getting in the top five,” LHS coach Ryan Adams said. “This is basically who’s who in the state. There’s a couple teams missing but the fast teams were there and the fast teams from the league were there.”

Ashley Jackson led Free State with a win in the 500 free and a second-place finish in the 200 free.

“Her time in the 500 wasn’t what it’s supposed to be, but she still won it pretty handily,” FSHS coach Jama Crady said. “Lindsey Witthaus, Katie Towner, Julie McGinn … they all cut time off everything. We felt pretty good where we’re at.”
