Honeywell associates prepare to ship beef jerky to soldiers in Iraq. From left are Rebecca Brandt, Paola, Nancy Tolson, Ottawa, Rita Blankinship and Georgie Denisar, both of Lawrence. Tolson received a letter from her son, Keyono Tolson, who is fighting in Iraq, requesting beef jerky because it keeps well in desert conditions. The women raised enough money to buy 170 packages of jerky from a local meat packer, who agreed to sell the jerky wholesale and prepare it for shipping. Associates signed a greeting card that was sent with the jerky. John Denisar took and submitted the photo.
