Closing options

To the editor:

I believe that closing Centennial and East Heights schools is the most ludicrous proposal I’ve heard from the school board. While I support the fact that the district needs improvements, I don’t support the expansion of Cordley School. Centennial has much more room for expansion. If Cordley is expanded, they will have no more parking and little green space for the playground.

How much money did the district spend bringing East Heights “up to date” recently? I don’t believe that closing these schools is the best solution for the district’s problems.

I believe that the district should receive more input from affected students and parents. Have all options been explored to their full extent?
