Positive tone

To the editor:

I am writing in response to an article that I saw in the Journal-World on Sunday. In the article about the downtown celebration after Kansas University beat Arizona, it was stated that people on the porch of the Free State Brewing Co. were shouting something like, “Burn Down the Gap.”

I was down there on the porch immediately after the game, and I never heard anything as negative as what the J-W printed. However, what I did see and hear was people singing the Rock Chalk Chant and various other KU cheers, people running down the street giving high fives and hugging each other. It was a very positive celebration, and I, for one, would not have let someone get away with some negative political crap ruining my celebration.
