FSHS baseball wins again
CLAREMORE, OKLA. ? Free State High pounded out 15 hits in a convincing 15-2, run-rule shortened baseball victory Saturday over Springfield (Mo.) Glendale High.
Matt Berner led the onslaught, going 3-for-4 with a grand slam, but FSHS coach Mike Hill said the win was a team effort.
“We really were impressive at the plate and really in all phases of the game and were all weekend,” Hill said. “The kids did a super job. I just think offensively, as opposed to an individual, collectively we were impressive at the plate. Today it was a multitude of people, and usually it has been that way.”
The Firebirds, who improved to 5-0, Tuesday will play host to Lawrence High (3-0).
