Bridge the divide
To the editor:
“A town divided.” The phrase has been bandied about some in the past few years and, most often, brushed aside by comments about how the high-schools’ boundary runs east and west. But if anyone looks at the Journal-World’s “School bond vote shows sharp split” graphic there can be no disagreement. Lawrence is certainly a city of perceived haves vs have-nots. Us vs. them. New vs old.
I certainly hope the new City Commission and new school board realizes, admits and attempts to correct this, beginning immediately.
