U.S. is best

To the editor:

The United States is not a perfect country. It is comprised of such a diverse population of imperfect persons, of which no one has all the answers to all of the problems here or anywhere else in the world.

The innovation of technology has allowed us to have access to so much information. With this influx of technology, many of us think that what we think or say is right and everyone else is wrong. This may cause us to do silly and foolish things. I look around and wonder what has happened.

When did America become so backward? People complain about our government all the time. How often do you hear, “taxes are too high,” “the government oppresses me” and, the best, “I wonder when I am going to get my government loan?”

I have found that the people who complain about the government not giving them handouts are usually the same people who are not working as much as they could or should. They’re protesting a war by violating city ordinances and holding tasteless signs. They are “expressing their rights” against people who are risking their lives defending “their rights,” failing to realize that if they lived in another country, they would probably be dead.

They would rather keep a man who is comparable to Adolf Hitler in power. The United States may not be perfect, but it is the best in the world. Everyone here and elsewhere just needs to appreciate it.
