To the editor:

I am a former teacher/coach. I do not approve of the actions of either individual at fault in the two articles in Wednesday’s J-W sports page: “Mangino punished.”

Mangino yelled at officials and pointed his finger. Result: LHS officials will punish Mangino. Officials’ (the victims) ears may be hurt from the yelling and their blood pressure may have gone up depending on which finger was pointed!

Front page: “Social worker dies of injuries from accident District Attorney awaits police report to determine whether to file charges.” The 17-year-old girl is suspected of driving under the influence (of alcohol?). Also, she hit another car! Results: one dead who spent her life helping kids. One kid who needs some help! Also, she need to be accountable for her actions! The accident is labeled hit-and-run at the very least. I have been the victim of a hit-and-run. The driver was also a student under the influence and she went directly to jail. Why isn’t this girl in juvenile custody? Hopefully, she will be classified as an adult and punished accordingly! Taking a human life isn’t childish!
