Developers try again to rezone agricultural land to planned residential district

Bottom Line

The Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission will consider a request to rezone a tract of land at Sixth Street and Folks Road from agricultural to planned residential district.

Background

An earlier attempt to rezone the land for an apartment complex drew opposition from neighbors, who want it used for single-family homes. Planners have recommended the request be deferred until a preliminary development plan is presented.
