‘Jayni’s’ show to feature treats for pets

A new show airs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday each week on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 and repeats at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The show is also broadcast at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. Sunday and 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Peanut Butter Bones
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup skim milk
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, wheat germ and baking powder. In a small bowl, combine peanut butter and milk. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix well. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently to combine. Roll or pat dough out to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into shapes and place on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
Bake in a 375 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until lightly brown. Cool on a rack. Store in an airtight container. Makes 20 to 24 cookies.
Kitty Bits
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or combination of flour and wheat germ)
1 tablespoon soft margarine
1/2 cup moist canned cat food
1/4 cup cooked carrots, mashed
2 to 4 tablespoons skim milk, if needed
In a medium bowl, combine the flour and margarine. Add the cat food and carrot, mixing well. Add the milk gradually, as needed. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently to combine. Roll or pat dough out to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into squares, small circles or shapes and place on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Bake treats in a 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes (depending on size) until lightly browned. Store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator. Makes about 24 mini treats.
