Get real on Iraq

To the editor:

I would respectfully disagree with Vice President Cheney about the immediacy of the threat from Iraq. I do agree that Saddam Hussein is an evil person and likes to tweak the noses of lions and 800-pound gorillas. But I also feel he is essentially a realist. But he is not suicidal. When he is confronted by a genuine threat he backs down. He might give aid as he becomes able, to terrorists, but the thought of him shooting an atomic bomb at the United States or even at Israel seems highly unlikely.
