Exhibit to benefit KU’s Audio-Reader

Kansas University’s Audio-Reader Network will benefit from proceeds gathered at a traveling exhibit of art by visually impaired artists that will be in Kansas City this month.

The 42-piece exhibit, “Art of the Eye,” will be on display Sunday until Sept. 25 at the Blue Gallery, 7 W. 19th St., Kansas City, Mo.

The exhibit, which features the work of 10 contemporary American artists with visual impairments, is free, but donations are encouraged. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays, noon to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

A fund-raising gala, called “A Night for Sight,” will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. A portion of sales generated by gala attendees who purchase dinner next door at Zin will go to the exhibit.
