Why move Louisiana and Haskell streets, which already carry the traffic? It’s just an added expense. As for going across the wetlands, if 35th was put in on a bridge design, it would be elevated and people could get a view of the wetlands. I see no need to move 31st south a few feet at the cost it would take to move it. It also shows there is no reason to move Louisiana and Haskell to the outside edge of the wetlands.

Also, why build an exchange at Haskell better than the one at U.S. Highway 59? There is no need for all the changes at Haskell, which would be too expensive to be practical. As for going across the wetlands, if 35th Street is used it would also remove the need to fill in dirt in the wetlands. This road also lines up with the road coming from U.S. 59.

There is no need to extend 31st to the east of Haskell; it just goes to Mary’s Lake.

Is this an exchange of “we’ll build you a bigger wetlands if we can build the road where we want it” instead of something practical?

Let’s look at both sides of the issue.
