Worthwhile event

To the editor:

I would like to thank all of the people who made the Seventh Annual Civil War on the Western Frontier an enjoyable and educational event. Thank you to all of the presenters who shared with us their knowledge of the events leading up to, during, and following Quantrill’s raid. Thank you also to those who worked “behind the scenes” getting brochures ready, scheduling locations for presentations, getting buses and trolleys for the tours, and everything else you did. I would especially like to thank the Kansas Humanities Council for partially funding this event. I attended several presentations and tours this year and each one taught me things about Lawrence’s history that I never knew, even though I grew up in Lawrence. Each presentation I attended was very well organized and professionally presented. It is obvious the presenters love their subject and would like to share it with everyone who wants to listen.

I look forward to next year’s events and encourage everyone in Lawrence to attend one or more of the events.

Barbara Ginzburg,

Lawrence
