Herpetologist Society to meet at KU

The slithery and slimy will be the guests of honor at this weekend’s annual meeting of the Kansas Herpetological Society.

In its 29th year, the conference will start Saturday and Sunday in Kansas University’s Nichols Hall. Events will also be staged at the Lawrence Prairie Park Nature Center and the Union Pacific Depot.

Herpetology involves the study of amphibians and reptiles, and events for this year include academic lectures, award presentations and a live-animal exhibit.

Registration for the event is $10 per person, $5 for students, and is payable at 8 a.m. both days Nichols Hall.
