Wichita ? Defense attorneys for Reginald Carr played for jurors Tuesday a videotape of a police interview with the only survivor of a quadruple shooting.

The tape was played as the defense scrambled to fill time until their DNA expert could make it to court. The expert had initially been scheduled to testify Tuesday, but defense attorneys were granted an extension after the woman reportedly fell off a roof.

In the video, which lasts more than two hours, the woman recounts for police a similar story to what she told jurors when she testified in court. She explained how two armed intruders forced her, another woman and three of their male friends to engage in sexual acts and to withdraw money from automated teller machines before they all were shot. She also said the two women were raped repeatedly.

Reginald Carr and his brother Jonathan Carr are being tried on a total of 113 charges, including capital murder. The charges come from a nine-day crime spree that ended on Dec. 15, 2000, with the shootings that killed Aaron Sander, 29; Brad Heyka, 27; Jason Befort, 26; and Muller, 25. Befort’s girlfriend, then a 25-year-old teacher, was the one who survived.

The brothers also are being tried in the Dec. 11 attempted robbery and shooting of Ann Walenta, 55, who later died, and the Dec. 7 robbery in which Andrew Schreiber was abducted and forced to withdraw cash from ATMs.

On the tape, the woman says she never got a good look at the intruder prosecutors contend was Reginald Carr. She did tell police she got a good look at his eyes when he was raping her. She had earlier identified in court Carr and his brother, Jonathan, as her attackers.

Jurors also saw a brief news clip from Wichita television station KWCH-TV showing the arrest of Reginald Carr. Schreiber had testified earlier he saw the news broadcast of the arrest, and recognized Reginald Carr as the man who had robbed him.
