Absent band

To the editor:

My family and I were driving home from Saturday’s Colorado game when the post-game show announced the Texas A&M band would not attend next week’s game in Memorial Stadium. My wife and I were very disappointed. The Texas Aggie Band is fantastic and we had looked forward to them coming to next week’s game after hearing them the last time they were in Lawrence.

I discovered that KU is the only game the Aggie Band is not attending. Now my disappointment has been replaced by anger. I realize the Big 12 is about money, and money drives decisions such as this. However, one day when the KU and A&M game is a big game, I would propose Dr. Bohl sell the seats that would otherwise be occupied by the Aggie Band. Maybe Coach Williams should auction off KU basketball Big 12 road games to the highest bidder.
