Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Lawrence Police are investigating the theft of $1,614 in stereo equipment and CDs from a car parked in the 1400 block of Tennessee. The theft, which occurred between 1 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday, was reported by a 19-year-old Lawrence man. About $200 in damage to the car also was reported.
¢ A 55-year-old Lawrence man reported someone took a portable heater worth $12,000 from a vacant mobile home in the 1300 block of Delaware. The theft occurred between Aug. 20 and Nov. 15. The man said he thought a former employee stole the heater, according to a police report.
¢ Lawrence Police are investigating the theft of $2,530 in stereo equipment and CDs between 10 p.m. Saturday and 12:51 a.m. Sunday from a 1998 Mitsubishi Gallant parked in the 800 block of New Hampshire. A 22-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft, which also led to $100 in damage to the car.
¢ Blue Springs Nissan in Blue Springs, Mo., told police between 5:46 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. Nov. 9 someone took wheels and tires from a car parked in the 800 block of Westgate Place. The wheels were worth $2,000, and the Bridgestone tires were worth $1,600.
¢ A 20-year-old Lawrence man reported someone took $2,350 in stereo equipment between 11 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday from his Chevrolet Cavalier when it was parked in the 4500 block of Overland Drive. He also reported $200 in damage to his car.
¢ Lawrence Police are investigating $1,000 in damage caused to a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Vermont Street. A 54-year-old Topeka man said the damage was caused between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
¢ Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the theft of $10,335 in items from a home in the 400 block of Whitfield in Lecompton. A 32-year-old man reported someone broke into his home between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 11:16 a.m. Friday and took various items, including a big-screen TV, CDs and gunsmithing tools.
