The winter high school sports season kicks off today as the city schools start basketball, wrestling and boys swimming practices immediately after school dismisses.

The Free State High boys’ basketball, wrestling and swimming teams will practice at 3:30 p.m., while the girls’ basketball teams will practice at 6 p.m.

The Lawrence High girls’ basketball, wrestling and swimming teams will practice at 3:30 p.m., while the boys’ basketball team will practice at 6 p.m.

Tryouts for boys LHS and FSHS varsity basketball teams will last until Wednesday.

Seabury Academy boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will practice at 3:15 p.m. at the East Lawrence Rec Center.
