27th and Iowa
To the editor:
The intersection of 27th and Iowa streets took a lot of months to build. I drove through barrels, around barrels and over some of them. There were days when some could have been moved to make traffic flow much smoother. I contacted City Hall as high as I could go talking to office help :quot; to no avail.
I now have a problem created by the intersection. Truck traffic on access roads comes to the median, and there are no signs telling them where to go so they take the first right and end up at 27th Street Terrace and Ridge Court, where my iris flower bed is located. Imagine what a set of dual wheels has done to them.
I contacted the city and got to talk to an engineer. He said semi-trucks can’t do that because it is a residential area. But tell that to the truck drivers who don’t have any signs.
I don’t blame the truckers, I blame the city :quot; just another screwup. I asked the engineer to keep me posted, but it’s been 12 days :quot; I have heard nothing and still have ruts in my yard.
