Letter: Fireworks fan

To the editor:

The fireworks ban is ridiculous. Is it the people’s fault some of us do not know how to have fun responsibly? Being a 14-year-old, the Fourth of July is truly a time to celebrate. It brings my family and neighborhood together to celebrate our freedom. I am so outraged. Do we ban cars because they might crash into us? Look at the money we spend there!

What are they going to ban next? Halloween, saying that too many children are getting sick from eating too much candy? You cannot ban fireworks because of a couple of incompetent people who don’t think. You are only throwing grease on a burning fire! The result is only going to end in illegal fireworks and more and more people being angered by the show of patriotism many will show no matter what, even if that means going to jail. Either way I will find a way to shoot off my fireworks, even if that means going to another city to do so.
