Address: 211 E. Eighth, Suite D

Contact Person: any staff member, 843-5030

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for families with children of their own who would like to spend time with a youth three or four hours a week. The program has 20 eligible boys on a waiting list for the program. All families, including nontraditional families, are accepted. Families make a commitment to their youth for a year and spend time with him doing traditional family activities like cooking meals, shopping or attending athletic events. Families may pick times and activities that fit best with their schedule.

Children in the program are between 5 and 17 years old. To volunteer, adults in the family must go through an application process that includes a background check and references. Orientation sessions are available at 5:15 p.m. Tuesdays or noon Wednesdays at the office. If these times don’t work, individual sessions can be scheduled.
