A Lawrence child was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital after being mauled Sunday evening by dog, possibly a Rottweiler, in the neighborhood near Schwegler School.

Police did not know the name or condition of the child Sunday as a helicopter landed at Schwegler to transport the child to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Check back here for more information as news breaks.
