Great idea
To the editor:
After thinking about Mr. Adams’ suggestion about locating the superstore in North Lawrence, I’ve come to realize it is nothing short of genius. I live in northwest Lawrence so I just hop on the bypass and I’m at Wal-Mart in five minutes. Sixth and Wakarusa just isn’t the place for a superstore. Period. But build one (especially one that stays open 24 hours) at the ghost-town outlet mall next to the Interstate and the store would have more business than they would know what to do with.
In fact, I would then hop on I-70, instead, at the Lecompton interchange and be there in three minutes. North Lawrencians need a grocery store. Summer travelers on the turnpike would have easy access to all the things they forgot to pack. It’s a win-win-win situation.
