Unbalanced view

To the editor:

The Saturday Column on the governor’s race and the lack of a willing and able Republican candidate was read with some amusement. It is easy to understand the reluctance of anyone of a caliber and with sense enough to be the governor of our state to head a party which cannot (or will not) redistrict according to law or arrange funding of the already-passed budget.

The Republicans cannot blame the Democrats, for they have a majority sufficient to do whatever they please regardless of how the opposition votes. Plus, if they put forward a sane and sensible program, history shows that there would be little opposition.

In his last paragraph, the writer bemoans the lack of “the chances of a strong, energetic, able individual with courage and vision moving into the Governor’s Office.” Does not Kathleen Sebelius fit that description? If not, please tell us why! Is it only because she is not Republican? For shame!

It is tiresome to read in your paper a continual barrage of garbage bordering on libel of anyone or anything not Republican or pro chamber of commerce. Such tirades lessen the credibility of the occasional balanced article to appear in your newspaper.
