University announces graduation details

More than 4,000 graduates are expected to participate in this year’s Kansas University commencement procession, which begins at 2:30 p.m. on Campanile Hill.

Graduates should assemble at 2 p.m. on Memorial Drive.

Free parking will be available across campus Sunday. Buses will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include stops at the Kansas Union, Jayhawk Boulevard, Murphy Hall, the south parking garage, Burge Union, Daisy Hill and the Lied Center.

In the event of inclement weather, KU officials will announce the ceremony postponement at 1 p.m. Watch www.ljworld.com for the latest information.

The announcement also will be made through KU Info, 864-3506, and local radio stations.

If rained out at 1 p.m., the ceremony will be rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. If the weather still is bad, the ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. If weather forces the postponement of the ceremony at 6:30 p.m., it will be at 9 a.m. Monday.

The ceremony will be simulcast at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union. It will be shown at 7 p.m. on KUJH-TV, Sunflower Broadband Channel 66, and can be viewed at www.digitaljayhawk.org.
