Burglaries and thefts reported

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a portable welder and an acetylene torch kit and tank belonging to a 34-year-old Florence man. The man said he left the equipment at Hamm Quarries, 631 N. 950 Road, where he had been doing some work. The items were taken sometime Friday, the victim told officers.

Two unidentified dogs reportedly killed a llama March 16 at a farm in the 1700 section of East 300 Road, Douglas County Sheriff’s officers said. The llama was valued at $500. The residents of the farm reported the incident. Officers searched for the dogs but did not find them.
