To the editor:

One evening each week, my teen-age son and I try to find a fun activity to do together. We have browsed through the many bookstores of Lawrence, shopped on South Iowa Street, and listened to the band in South Park. One of the fun things we enjoy is miniature golf, but Lawrence does not offer that activity. We have to travel to Overland Park and spend too many dollars for one evening’s entertainment.

I would like to suggest a miniature golf course where families could enjoy putt putting together. The next time some entrepreneur spies unoccupied green space, perhaps the city commissioners might encourage the preservation of the land, trees, boulders, picnic tables, etc., through an entertainment complex, including miniature golf.

My son and I would be grateful.
