Burglaries and thefts reported
A wooden trailer was taken from a fenced-in storage area near a residence in the 1900 block of East 19th Street, a Lawrence Police report said. The trailer belonged to a 54-year-old Lawrence man and was valued at $1,700. The trailer was taken sometime between May 26 and Sunday.
Someone damaged a 1991 GEO Prism belonging to a 26-year-old Lawrence woman. The car was parked in the 600 block of Eldridge Street and someone broke into it, taking a compact disc player and 85 compact discs. Losses and damage totaled $2,628. The incident occurred about 4 a.m. Sunday after a neighbor called the woman and told her someone was trying to break into the car.
Someone broke into a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning in the 500 block of McDonald Drive. A cell phone was taken. Damage and losses were listed at $1,000.
The trunk of a 1995 Ford Contour was scratched with a sharp object sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning while it was parked in the 500 block of Michigan. The car belonged to a 32-year old Lawrence man.
