Bus audit
To the editor:
It is wonderful that the federal auditors gave a big thumbs up to the the city bus system. It certainly meets all the federal criteria of waste and mismanagement. Efficiency and tight money and energy management are certainly not a consideration, as witnessed by the continued running to the business park on nights and weekends just to name one.
Traffic safety wasn’t either, considering the stops made in areas of very high traffic on the city’s major streets.
One thing for sure is that the crime factor is a nonissue on the buses. No self-respecting thief would bother going for the toll box.
