Former President Bush to attend Abilene event

Former President George H.W. Bush will participate in an October ceremony at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in honor of President Eisenhower’s 112th birthday.

The Eisenhower Library in Abilene will open a new state-of-the-art presidential gallery in the museum to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Eisenhower’s election to the presidency in November 1952.

Bush will make remarks at opening ceremonies for the new exhibition and will lay a wreath at Eisenhower’s grave.

The daylong events, scheduled for Oct. 12, are free and open to the public.
