Mag fan

To the editor:

I just recently learned of your decision to stop publishing The Mag. What where you thinking?! Do you honestly believe that there’s too much competition from The Pitch? If you hadn’t noticed, The Pitch stinks, and it will continue to stink as long as it’s produced from its corporate office. The Mag had become what The Pitch used to be before it went corporate; a local arts and music paper. Actually, I liked The Mag better than anything I’ve read for arts and music; it was really hip, stylish and fun to read. I can’t believe that if The Pitch can sustain itself through ad revenue alone, that The Mag couldn’t do the same or better if given a chance.

Once again, I fear that the same “make everything vanilla” mentality that is designed to appeal to the least common denominator of the populace has held sway in your decision to eliminate The Mag. This great publication was yet one more cool thing that helped make Lawrence, Lawrence, and NOT Johnson County. Thanks for nothing.
