Burglaries and thefts reported

An exciting career in cosmetology might await the thief who allegedly stole $1,536 worth of goods from a parked car in the 3900 block of Overland Drive.

A bottle of disinfectant, a pair of shears, a “feather-raiser,” and a set of electric clippers were among the hair-sculpting tools reported stolen from the car, which belonged to a 20-year-old hair stylist from Manhattan.

She told police the theft happened sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday. The thief also took clothes, a pair of shoes and about $500 worth of compact discs, she told police.
