Fur protest

To the editor:

On Sunday, there was a controversial protest downtown (“I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur”). For those of us who were uncomfortable with the protest, I hope we are much more uncomfortable with the suffering that animals endure so that people can have fur coats and accessories.

Because the fur industry does not want the pelt to be flawed, animals are drowned, electrocuted or clubbed to death. Buying fur coats and accessories supports a ferocious industry.

The holiday season is a time to be thankful and compassionate to ALL living creatures.
