Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A vehicle belonging to a 25-year-old Lawrence man was burglarized sometime Sunday night in the 3400 block of Iowa Street.
  • A bean bag chair, clothing and other personal property items were taken sometime Saturday morning at a residence in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street. Two people were sleeping in the residence at the time and were unaware of the intruder, Lawrence Police said. Police are not sure how entry was gained. Losses were listed at more than $2,000.
  • A 25-year-old Lawrence man told police Thursday that someone broke into his Honda. There was damage to the driver’s side door and its molding. A compact disc player was taken. The car was parked in the 5000 block of Clinton Parkway. Damage and losses were listed at $1,210.
  • Someone broke into a mobile home Saturday in the 3300 block of Iowa Street. A 28-year-old man called police. Taken were a 27-inch television set, a VCR, DVD player, DVDs and other items. Losses were listed at $1,120. A rear door to the mobile home was pried open, police said.
  • A computer, VCR, DVD player, clothing and jewelry were taken sometime Friday at a residence in the 300 block of Kansas Avenue. Someone entered an attached garage, climbed through the ceiling and then punched a hole in the ceiling of the house, a police report said. A 38-year-old woman called police. Losses and damage were more than $7,000.
