Church’s Chicken settles in teen’s assault

? A Church’s Chicken restaurant in Wichita will pay $150,000 to a former teenage employee who was sexually assaulted by her store manager, as part of a settlement reached with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The settlement, announced Monday, still must be approved by the U.S. District Court in Wichita.

The EEOC sued the restaurant in March, claiming the store manager sexually harassed the 14-year-old girl in July 2000. The manager was convicted in August of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and sentenced to eight years in prison, the EEOC said.

In addition to paying the girl $150,000, Church’s Chicken must send her a letter of apology, provide sexual harassment training to all employees and post notices at stores informing employees about sexual harassment.
