To the editor:

The “Lawrence losing LaGarde to Olathe office park” headline may not have been bold enough. As I read this article, I was reminded of last week’s Saturday Column. How many times will we have to lose something before we recognize what we have to do? We do need leaders bold enough to accomplish building a city and state of undeniable stature. Unfortunately, the national image of Kansas seems to project political dissension and self-absorbed interests. We need to all start thinking about how we could work together and support a forward-thinking leader. Let’s quit the bickering, complete unfinished projects, and then go on to distinguish Lawrence and Kansas.
