ID is answer

To the editor:

The no-call list is a step in the right direction in limiting unsolicited calls, but after all the loopholes it seems like they might continue. A better idea than a list is change the law when it comes to caller ID. Make it so that a number, with the name of the company and what the company is (it will specifically have to say telemarketer or paid solicitation) shows up on a caller ID whenever a call processor dials your number, no loopholes, no UNAVAILABLE, no PRIVATE CALL, and no *69. This will appease those businesses that say that the list will keep them from customers because if the customer WANTS to talk to them then they can. It will also appease everyone else at suppertime when they see it is a telemarketer and can choose to not pick the phone up. If someone or some company does not want the person they are calling to know who they are, then they probably shouldn’t be calling in the first place.
