KANSAS CITY, KAN. ? Police found two people dead Thursday morning in an apartment at a government-subsidized housing complex after the manager called officers and asked them to check on the residents.

A 20-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman died of an apparent gunshot wound. It was unclear how the male victim died, said police spokeswoman Pam Bennett.

The victims’ names weren’t released.
