Traffic hazard

To the editor:

It amazes me how our city will spend money to do studies on how to eliminate traffic problems in Lawrence. What I would like to know is why don’t they spend some of that money to increase patrols at intersections. One of the biggest hazards at our intersections are the people who run red lights. I am not talking about people who hit the intersection as the light turns yellow; I am talking about the ones that go through it when it is RED!

It is bad when a light turns green and you feel you have to hesitate on going because there is always someone running the red light. Stopping people who are running red lights will go a long ways to helping the flow of traffic at our intersections and reduce a major hazard.
