Law enforcement report
Lawrence Police late Saturday were searching for a suspect in a stabbing at Gaslight Village mobile home park, 1900 W. 31st Street. Officers were called at 5:18 p.m. to a fight at a mobile home, but when they arrived, the residence was empty, Sgt. Paul Fellers said. An officer searching the park found a 31-year-old Lawrence man in a vehicle. He had suffered two stab wounds one in the arm and one in the back, Fellers said. The man was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where a hospital spokeswoman said he was in stable condition, recovering from surgery late Saturday. Fellers said the stabbing could have taken place during a domestic dispute and that police continued to investigate.
Lawrence Police are investigating a possible aggravated battery that occurred early Saturday morning at a North Lawrence bar. Officers were called to Club 508 at 508 Locust, where patrons entering the bar had seen a man outside vomiting blood, Sgt. Susan Hadl said. Officers tried to communicate with the man, who had severe facial injuries, but he had been drinking and wasn’t coherent, Hadl said. The 21-year-old Lawrence man was taken to LMH, where he was treated and released. The investigation continues.
A 25-year-old female Kansas University student told Lawrence Police that someone slashed her vehicle’s convertible top between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:55 a.m. Friday while it was parked at her residence in the 3100 block of West 22nd Street. Damages were listed at $1,200.
