Law enforcement report

A 25-year-old Lawrence man remained in the Douglas County Jail Saturday night after being arrested Friday for allegedly threatening a group of men with a knife. Lawrence Police were called to a reported fight about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Ousdahl Road, Sgt. Susan Hadl said. Officers were advised one of the people involved had a gun, Hadl said. Officers didn’t find a gun but did locate a knife with a black handle that the suspect may have used to threaten four men, Hadl said. Apparently, the men were walking down the street when a passing car slowed and the suspect, whom they didn’t know, hopped out, Hadl said. The suspect confronted the men verbally and struck one of them with his fist, Hadl said. The man’s friends got him back into the car, but he returned on foot with the weapon, Hadl said. No one was injured. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal threat and battery.
