Washburn schedules criminal justice day

Topeka The criminal justice department at Washburn University will have a career day from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. The event will be in Lee Arena in the Petro Allied Health Center on the Washburn campus.

Students will be able to meet with recruiters from law enforcement, probation and parole, attorneys, FBI, DEA, Marshals Service, KBI, Coast Guard, Secret Service, corrections, security administration and various military branches.

KU sets final exams

Kansas University has announced the following final examinations:

Emily Reiff, medicinal chemistry, “Total Synthesis of the Epothilones and Epothilone Analogues and Biological Studies,” 11:30 a.m. April 26, 3059 Malott.

KU to explore math for elementary students

The Kansas University department of mathematics will be host to school children during April for Mathematics Awareness Month.

Undergraduate and graduate students will teach elementary school children about math in two-hour workshops at KU.

Topics include using multiplication to decode genomes and math fun facts.

As an additional activity, the department will organize a math competition for students in fifth through 12th grades on today at Snow Hall.
