Classroom priority

To the editor:

Longtime school board member Mary Loveland, in her letter of March 26 about Riverside School, lists what “ideally, an elementary school building would include.” Most lists begin with what is most important and descend to what is least important. Mrs. Loveland begins with administrative office space. Her list then descends in 14 stages through technology areas, resource rooms, gym, cafeteria, kitchen, storage areas and conference spaces to arrive finally at classrooms. Interesting. If they keep firing teachers, maybe we can eliminate classrooms altogether.
