A Lawrence agency that serves battered women and their children will hold its first fund-raiser to promote healthy lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender relationships.

The fund-raiser for Women’s Transitional Care Services Inc. will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Tootsies, 1822 Main St., Kansas City, Mo.

Activities will include entertainers, readings and spoken-word poetry. All proceeds will raise funds for the agency’s woman-to-woman abuse program.
