Drip Irrigation and Small Farm Equipment
Olathe Horticulture Research & Extension Center
35230 W. 135th St., Olathe, KS 66061
Cost: $15

This workshop will cover the basics of drip irrigation for fruit and vegetable production systems in addition to small farm equipment considerations. We will discuss ways to provide vegetable crops with water efficiently and talk about the different options of water sources and drip systems that are available to growers. We will also provide a tour of small farm equipment that we use at the research center (bed-shapers, flail mower, roller-crimper, waterwheel planter, cultivators, seeders, hand tools, etc.) and discuss tractor safety and operation. Bring your walking shoes for this workshop. We will cover the farm in detail highlighting the various pieces of equipment and infrastructure and how they are used for small-acreage fruit and vegetable production.
