The future bride is 2009 graduate of Eudora High School. She is studying for an anthropology degree at Kansas University and is employed at Bargain Depot in Lawrence.
The future groom is a 2008 graduate of Eudora High. He will earn a criminal justice degree from Johnson County Community College in May and is also employed at Bargain Depot.
The couple plan a May 25, 2012, wedding at Eudora Baptist Church.

The future bride is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School and is employed with LMH Therapy Services.
The future groom is the son of Robin and Jane Edmonds, Berryton. He is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High, attended Fort Scott Community College, and is employed with Rocking H Ranch.
The couple plan a March 24, 2012, wedding at Stull United Methodist Church, Lecompton.

Betsy Madl, Lawrence, and Clint Peterson, Stanberry, Mo., announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Ted Madl, Wellsville, and Pam Irey, Baldwin City. She is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School, attended Kansas State University, and graduated from Washburn University in 2005.
The future groom is the son of Donnie and Pam Peterson, Stanberry. He is a 2003 graduate of Stanberry R2 (Mo.) High School, joined the U.S. National Guard, and was deployed to Afghanistan.
The couple plan a May 26, 2012, wedding at their home in Baldwin City.

The future bride is the daughter of Mike and Sheila White, Lawrence. She is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School, attended Highland Community College, and is a certified nursing assistant at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan. She plans to earn a nursing degree.
The future groom is the son of Mark and Marsha Comer, Osgood, Ind. He is a 2007 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del Junior-Senior High School and is currently serving in the U.S. Army.
The couple plan an April 14, 2012, wedding at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.

Owen
Ellyn and David Owen
Ellyn and David Owen, Baldwin City, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church, Lawrence. A trip is planned for June.
Ellyn Evarts and David Owen met while students at the University of Colorado, Boulder. They were married June 9, 1962, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lakewood, Colo. The groom’s father, the Rev. George B. Owen, and the Rev. Norman Middleton officiated.
David worked as a cartographer, making road maps and atlases for General Drafting, Convent Station, N.J., for five years. He then joined McGraw-Hill Book Company as a college level representative, where he sold books and procured manuscripts, for 26 years. In retirement, David has been involved with Trinity Environmental Stewardship Team and is presently chair of the Kansas Interfaith Power and Light, an organization devoted to educating faith groups about environmental stewardship and advocating for sustainable energy policies.
Ellyn has held many different volunteer positions with Trinity Episcopal Church and Girl Scouting. She remains an instructor of beginning Girl Scout leaders. In the past, she taught middle school and later worked as a substitute teacher in Lawrence.
The couple have two daughters, Heather McGee and husband Murray, Beloit, and Jennifer Bravo and husband Daniel, Seattle; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Kristina Walthall and Joshua Fowler, both of Lawrence, were married August 5, 2011, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Lonnie and Michelle Walthall, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Ronald Sr. and Joan Fowler, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Kimberlyn Fowler. Best man was Ronald Fowler Jr. Bridesmaids were Emily Walthall, Heidi Fowler and Mary Holtkamp. Groomsmen were Dustin Walthall and Dean Kemppainen.
A reception was given at the Carnegie Building in Lawrence.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is employed as a certified medication and nurses aid for Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Free State High School. He is employed in the U.S. Army and is a plant operator with the City of Lawrence water department.
