TOPEKA — Gov. Kathleen Sebelius this morning will announce her appointment to the state treasurer’s job.The position is being vacated by Lynn Jenkins, a Republican, who won election to Congress to represent the 2nd House District, which includes west Lawrence. Jenkins defeated incumbent Nancy Boyda, a Democrat, in the election.Several names have surfaced as possible replacements, but those people said they weren’t interested in the job. Jenkins’ term as treasurer runs through 2010.Sebelius planned an 11 a.m. news conference to make her announcement.
